Our cup of tea: The ultimate eco friendly disposable cup.. Made beautifully by hand on a potter’s wheel and then fired in traditional kilns. Sold for less than a pence and used by millions everyday to drink their daily cup of chai from street vendors… Once used these are then thrown away and ultimately go back to the earth they once came from. Went shopping to buy them today from the lady on the street who runs the equivalent of our local “CCP” – it was like a mini supermarket of disposable supplies – the only difference being most items she sold was truly eco friendly – bowls, piggy banks, plates made from clay, paper or sal leaves.. Bags made from newspapers. She did store some stuff inside plastic bags but said those kept the dust away…Look forward to using these when serving our next meal in Surrey.. Did tell her but wonder if she knows what a different world it is….
